Tagging Tips

Picture

Basic Tagging Instructions

  • Print tags on white cardstock
  • Use plastic (tubular or department store) hangers or clip hangers
  • Use children's hangers for clothing through size 6
  • Point hanger hook left (it will look like a question mark)
  • Pin items to top of hanger and pin multiple items together securely
  • Pants and skirts must be on clip hangers
  • Safety pins should be at least 1" (no straight pins)
  • If using a tagging gun, place tag through seam or garment tag so it doesn't make a hole in the fabric
  • Add an orange curling ribbon to highlight boutique items

Tagging Toys, Shoes & Large Items

  • Use high-quality packing tape or zip ties to keep items together
  • Put loose items in Ziploc bags and tape bag closed
  • Zip tie shoes together (Shoes must be clean, free of scuffs or worn toes)
  • Reinforce tags with tape or stickers if punching holes
  • Place bedding in large bags (Toddler, twin, and full-size bedding ONLY, must be child-specific)
  • On large items, place Consignor # on a piece of tape on the item (this helps if tags are separated)
  • Toys MUST have WORKING batteries (Consignors will be charged $1 per battery we replace)
  • All non-working or broken toys will be removed from the sales floor

Electronic Tagging System

Our system allows consignors to create a unique barcoded tag for each item they bring to the sale. Electronic tagging enables consignors to track exactly which items have sold and also ensures that they are paid correctly for every item.
